I'm running Windows 10 Pro. While attempting to use the Search window in Windows Explorer the search window will go blank and you can't type anything in it. The Search Window in Explorer normally has the phrase Search in (name of current folder) but it doesn't it's just a blank window that I can't access. I've tried to back up a tier in the folder directory which has no effect on the search window. If I close Explorer and re-open it the search function comes back. But there must be something that is blocking the search function. That's the best description I can give you for now. I will continue to plink on the problem and will post anything else I can find.

Thanks
Chris Minor

Solution
see if this helps
right click start button
choose command prompt (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter
once its finished, copy/paste this into same window (needs to be exact)
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

DISM fixes the files that SFC uses to fix windows, so if SFC had an error first run, rerun it again after DISM and restart PC.

Can you search via cortana? Otherwise it might be indexing - try this: http://windowsable.com/fix-windows-10-search-issues-rebuilding-index/
