How to get search "my stuff" functionality back

I want to be able to search my computer, as in "my stuff" and not get directed to the web with every query. This seems to be a common problem; a solution given by a Microsoft employee is to click on the "my stuff" icon. My computer has no such icon anymore, and of coarse if I use Cortina she sends me to Bing! Are there any programs that do the search function like there are programs that replace Windows Explorer. Any advice is appreciated.

Related topics gave me an answer - the search function in Windows Explorer. In all the years I have used this tool I always ignored it's search bar, but not anymore. Thanks Toms Forum for

I don't use cortana but I just looked at her pop up and on bottom row it has 3 choices under search for... apps, documents or web
