VGA port on motherboard not displaying anything

Hello
I'm having trouble with getting my motherboard VGA port to display anything.
I'm currently trying to run 2 monitors but my graphics card only has one HDMI connector and I don't have a display port which is the only other port on the graphics card, so I tried to plug the second monitor into the motherboard VGA but it is not being detected by my computer and is not displaying anything.

Which motherbd do you have? Not all of them (esp older ones) can use both the integrated and a GPU at the same time.

check in the bios setup that both the onboard video & the video card is enabled if there is a setting for that depending on the age of motherboard.

I have an Asus z97-A motherboard.
And I tried looking in the bios for an option to enable both onboard and video card, but couldn't find anything

did you check your motherboard manual for video settings in the bios?
