I am building a PC for myself because I hate Alienware and the motherboard I have now doesn't support Skylake CPU's. So am i able to connect my current SSD to the new computer and run windows 10 right away once everything is put together or do i need to have an SSD with a fresh install of Windows 10?

Solution
no you will need a fresh windows install for the new pc.

too many drivers and other pieces of code specific to the pc it is installed on to just drop it into another pc. save yourself a bunch of headaches and back up your data and format that ssd for a fresh install. your head will thank you when you don't spend the time banging it against the wall trying to figure out why it won't work right :)
