Low usable memory

This has happened recently and need a bit of help, I have 8gb of ram installed and only 3.35gb is available. Also when pc is idle im using almost 50% of memory so RIP trying to play a game.

EDIT:
As of about 1 hour after posting this I decided to try and play Battlefield 1 (which worked fine previously) and ive ended up with a low memory error .

Obvious question: Are you on 64 bit windows 10?

is it 2x4gb? Try running http://www.memtest86.com/ on the ram sticks and make sure both work with no errors

Yeah windows 10 and 64bit ofcourse and its a single 8gb stick

have you changed your page file size? windows never runs out of ram, it runs out of commitments.. the difference is commitments includes page file + ram, and in your PC your total physical seems to match total virtual (BTW, total physical just shows how much is being used by system at the time, not the max it can use). 6.19gb of virtual ram seems to match up to 4gb physical in most cases i can find.

In task manager/performance/memory task, how much is showing as hardware reserved?

I looked into changing the page file size but dont think I ended up doing it, and my hardware reserved matches up its 1.8gb, so is it just safe to say I purchase another stick?

i only have 58mb hardware reserved. 1.8gb is way out unless you use integrated graphics

is this a laptop or PC? is it brand name or custom? if custom, what motherboard do you have?

can you share a screen shot of that task manager/memory tab?

I just went into BIOS and turned down the intergrated graphics to minimum as its not used I dont know why its not disabled so its down to 123mb. This is a custom built desktop with an h87m asrock mobo.

Games still stutter and freeze but not as much and I haven't had a memory error yet.
Ran a memtest for safe measures and all came out fine. So i guess theres still a problem as it never used to be like this..

2.2 in use and 5.6 available adds up to 7.8 which is what you should have

your page file used is very similar to mine, as are the commitments (My commits are 4/16.9gb, yours 3.7/15.9 which strikes me as strange as you have half the ram I do)

maybe stutters caused by hdd and not ram? could try running HD Tune Trial (See http://www.hdtune.com/) on drive and check its health.

Already ran a test today and everything came back healthy.
