the difference is that the cheaper is refurbished.

I'm not sure. Sometimes that's the catch with buying refurbished. The price might be a significant deal, but sometimes it means that it's a no-return policy. You should email or live chat with Newegg to confirm this. Would be kind of a shame to buy a refurb and get a great deal, just to have it go bad in a month and be out lots of $$$. Good luck!
