So at the moment its 34inch 1440p at 100Hz OR 34inch 1080p at 144Hz. I am an FPS gamer so would never drop the refresh rate for that increased resolution. What I want to know is when will we see an 34inch curved 1440p monitors with 144Hz capability? As soon as they came out I would get 3 and be in the ultimate immersive experience.

Anything in development or is the technology just not there yet?

Thanks!

Problem has been no capability to transfer that bandwidth. Hell gaming at 144hz consistently at 3440x1440 isn't really achievable with current hardware anyway. Even running 2 1080's on my Asus rog pg348q I get occasional dips below 100fps. My wife games on her acer z35 which is 144hz and the difference between her 144hz and my 100hz is BARELY noticeable arguably noticeable at all and all we play is fps. Mostly bf4 and bf1

Thanks krells, a lot of good info there. So mid 2017 looks like we might see such tech introduced to the market. Guessing by Christmas 2017 we will see some flagship monitors from companies at ultra wide 1440p with144Hz G-sync capability.

I don't agree that the difference between 144Hz and 100Hz is barely noticeable. I have done extensive comparisons myself and I can't really stand 100Hz after playing at 144Hz, where these kind of frames are easy to consistently achieve when gaming at only 1080p resolution. I find it hard to believe the 2 GTX 1080's can't get you better frames then that on a single 1440p monitor (not saying I don't believe you, just saying I though the card would easily be able to achieve this, particularly for bf1 / bf1 (only games I play as well pretty much)). Cheers for the info.

In bf1 running both my 1080's at 2088mhz, my i7-5820k at 4.5ghz if i unlock the frame rate i hit as high as 160 but average 120'ish. I play conquest which is 64 man and the 3440x1440 is pretty damn close to 4k so really those frames at this res is impressive. Everyone sees fps different but using my wifes 144hz acer z35 and my monitor fps wise i cant tell enough of a difference for it to matter. Now when the new monitors come out that are 144hz i will trade this one in and get one of those but for now this one at 100hz is plenty fast enough. Bf1 isn't exactly a well optimized game. At least not for nvidia it seems. DX12 benchmarks show much better gains on amd than nvidia and in alot of cases dx12 nets you worse performance than dx11. I expected much better fps numbers out of bf1 with my system but as i said bf1 isnt exactly optimized yet.

What are your average frames on BF4 with the same system?

Makes much more sense. I thought you were saying you get the 100 frames on BF4 as well. BF1 will only get better.
