How to turn off Sound pop-ups ?

In Windows 10 if you change the volume, a volume bar pops up in the top left of the screen. I didn't mind it that much, but now it's popping up a large bar next to that saying what music is playing. If you hover your mouse over it, it stays there which blocks off a portition of the screen constantly.

How can I turn this thing off?

No built in way to disable it apparently, but see this:

So it is possible at registry level, but safer with the app.
