I am planning to buy a monitor for gaming. I found one that has 2 HDMI ports and D-sub. https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VX228H/specifications/ I want to game in 1080p over 60fps but I read somewhere here in the forum that HDMI is limited only to 60fps and thought that getting a monitor with Dvi-d would be better.

I have another question. If I take for example this monitor it says - Digital Signal Frequency : 24~83 KHz(H)/ 50~75 Hz(V) https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VS247HR/specifications/ So what's the actual refresh rate of the monitor?

56~76 Hz(V) is the maximum vertical refresh rate that the monitor will display. It should easily reach 60 Hz/60 fps. You may even get it to scan at the rated 76 Hz. So in theory, that will be the limit of the fps you will see. Faster frame rates than that may even introduce stutter as frames are skipped.
