Still stuck at 30Hz after AMD update

Hey Tom's Hardware,

I've had this issue for a few weeks now and haven't been able to solve it.

I use a 4K tv as my display, with my R9 295X2 which has been working fine for a while now. After an AMD update I restarted my computer and was locked to 30Hz when in 3840x2160.

In control panel, 1920x1080 now has the "recommended" (it used to be 3840x2160 that had that) and the highest resolution that lets me display in 60Hz is 1920x1080.

I've tried switching adapters (I use a miniDP to HDMI 2.0 active adapter) and I've tried switching HDMI cables to see if it was faulty hardware but no luck. I also tried using integrated graphics out of my i7 6700k but that didn't work either.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks!

Solution
You would need either Display Port 1.2 or HDMI 2.0 to display 4k @ 60 Hz without tricking around.
If your card, monitor, cable and any other hardware in the chain supports this, you should be easy to just do it.
