a question about display ports

First my monitor only has vga port i used to use a thing to change vga to dvi-a but now i got a better gpu but i still have the same monitor. Problem is my other gpu doesnt have a dvi-a but a dvi-d port and i dont have thing to change vga to dvi-d so i was wondering if it is possible to put other gpu too and use old one's port but other one should do the other things. is it possible ? Or what other things you can suggest ?

Buy new monitor

vga is analog and displayport/dvi is digital so you will not get a converter get a new display make sure it has displayport and you sould be fine

as far as i understood i need a display port converter but is there something like active or passive converter ? i heard it for dvi converter and i am confused
