I'm thinking of purchasing an ultrawide nonitor- 21:9. I have a 980TI with capability to add 3 more. I see there are 2560x1080, and 3440x1440 available for purchase. I cant get to a store easily, therefore the question.

Is the difference between the two resolutions a matter of black & white? What I mean is for example, is on my 1080P HDTV, yes, a movie in 1080P better than one in 720P, but 720P in my opinion is good enough.

So:
1) a definite noticeable difference between the 2 resolutions?
2) why is the Acer Predator 3x more than other 3440 ones?

Thank you

Solution
1) If you think of the Ultrawides in relation to their Vertical resolution, then you can consider one to be 1080p and the other to be 1440p Vertically at least. If you compare 1080p to 1440p then you can definitely see the difference in resolution.

2) The Predator is more expensive because it uses an curved IPS panel, and it overclocks to 100hz with G-Sync/Freesync. I don't think there are currently any other panels that can boast that specification at this resolution yet. Plus you are mostly paying for the branding.
