I am going to upgrade my PC between now and Black Friday. Ill post the current hardware on the left and the upgraded hardware on the right.
Also, wondering if something new is coming out that I'm not aware of. My goal is to have a solid PC for the next 3-4 years for higher-end gaming.

MOBO:
Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H LGA 1150 *** ASUS X99-DELUXE II LGA2011-v3

CPU:
Intel i7-4770 3.4GHz *** Intel i7-5820K 3.3GHz

RAM:
16GB Corsair Veng. DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) *** 64GB Corsair Veng. DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)

GPU:
2x ASUS GTX 660Ti SLi *** Gigabyte GTX 1080

Case:

Cooler Master HAF 932 Adv'd - Full Tower *** Corsair Graphite Series 780T Full Tower

Power Supply:
XCLIO Greatpower 1000W

I plan on keeping the power supply unless there are any strong suggestions. It is 8 years old but has really had any adversity to deal with since power in the US is very stable.
Additionally, I will keep the 7yr old Corsair H50 120mm CPU cooler. Again, unless educated otherwise.
Last, I have never really messed with overclocking CPUs before. Though with this build, I would think it would be a great addition. I don't like the idea of damaging the CPU but from what I've read there's little to worry about as long as you're not overzealous.
I'm open for any discussion as long as its based on empirical data. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help.
Cheers
DZ

Honestly, I see no reason to upgrade from an i7-4770 + 16GB DDR3, the gains just are not there.

Your existing setup will last years yet - a GPU upgrade would be nice though.
1070 would be a little overkill currently for 1080p, but would allow longevity. A 1080 would be even more overkill, but at 1440p or 4K then it's a good call.

Never heard of the PSU though... the 1000W seemed to review ok, but at 8+ years old, I'd be inclined to start thinking about replacing it.

^^ Good catch on the H50. At 7 years old, I wouldn't trust any AIO, let alone a budget oriented AIO.

Again though, I don't see wholesale upgrades or a new build being required here.

The i7 has lots of life in it, with only minimal performance gains in gaming on either Z170 or X99 chips (in some cases, lesser performance in gaming). 16GB, same situation. DDR4 isn't bringing a whole lot to the table, 16GB is still ideal - 64GB 3200 MHz DDR4 is totally overkill and never going to be utilized in gaming in the next ~5 years (if ever).

Yeah I know it seems excessive, I guess I should have predicated that this build is meant to allow me to Play Star Citizen at max capability and stream.
