First time builder here. Can I use my TV as a PC monitor until I get a new one?

Hello,

I'm building my first gaming PC. I've recently picked out by PC parts but I have one question that's bugging me all over. I do not own a good gaming monitor just yet but I do own Samsung 55" 4K SUHD Quantum Dot TV. Could I use this TV as a PC monitor until I find a good gaming monitor?

it should work if you have the correct cable and connection on the GPU

As long as your TV has
DVI
HDMI
or
Displayport

Or you can get the right adapter, then you can use it.

I am not sure if audio is carried through those cables, you might need to get some speakers if you can't get that to work also...

Yes my TV has a whole bunch of HDMIs and my GPU is the new Gigabyte GTX 1080 Xtreme Waterfroce. I think it should work. Thanks!

1080 can driver the Samsung. just make sure you get a good HDMI 2.0 cable and set HDMI to PC under source and turn on UHD color under the picture option in the setting menu.
