I'm not sure which country you are in but it has started here in Canada. Industry in the US is watching to see how it pans out. Personally I think it's smart to offer this. So many people I know have cancelled their cable and are just using streaming services/on demand now. With the a la carte options, if done properly...

Nothing like having 300 channels and only watching 4 and paying $80 for that plus another $59 for 10m internet access. I dumped cable a few years ago here is what we pay for.

HD Antenna = $ Free 12 Channels
Amazon Prime = $ Free paid for by Parts Suppliers.
Sling = $ Free paid for by Parts Suppliers.
Kodi = unlimited free content
YouTube= Free

I see no reason every to turn on cable or Satellite again even if they allowed À la carte which they wont do.
