Pirate windows 10 & legit key

Hi, I installed pirate windows 10 pro about 3 weeks ago and it can update to latest version.
Now, I got legit windows 10 for good price at my local store.
My question is do I have to clean install windows to use my product key? Can I deactivate the current key and use the new one because I don't want to reinstall programs again.

I highly recommend a full clean install.

I know it will be a drag, but a full wipe of the pirated software before you install genuine will give you the best chance of a successful install. There is probably a whole lot of the backend code that isn't quite right with the pirated copy.

Will this give me a clean windows and my programs backup? If this won't result the same as clean installation, I think I have to follow your suggestion.

It cost me 3,900 ThaiBaht or around 110 USD. I chat with Microsft support and he told me it is a retail version. so I think I would give it a shot.
