So I run an MSI R9 390 8Gb gaming. I am currently working on a dinky little 21" 1080p screen from asus and its not satisfying in size or clarity. I play and work on this screen, witcher 3, darksoulsI, autoCAD, phototshop, etc. So for Christmas this year I'm getting myself a better display.

my budget is right around $300. So far my options are these.

Clearly the TN panels are larger and cheaper, any 27" IPS display is straight out of my budget, so my question is, IS IPS REALLY WORTH THE PREMIUM AND SIZE REDUCTION?

I just upgraded from a ASUS 247 TN Led screen to a ASUS MX27AQ 27" WQHD 2560x1440 IPS ($330) and it has been more than worth it, the IPS screen absolutely blows away my older TN screen, the colors are unreal, the clarity is better. I was able to overclock the ASUS screen to 75 hz also, 25% increase in framerate! I'm a IPS believer. I'm not a guy who cares for gaming above 60fps though, just my preference, seen games run on a 120 hz screen, wasn't blown away by any stretch, so it's my opinion is that the IPS screen colors outweigh faster refresh rates, 75 fps is pretty damn good in my opinion!

Well the Dell U2515H is a decent panel with great color depth and accuracy. Minimal backlight bleed with deep blacks and clear whites and has much better viewing angles, which is the pro with an IPS panel. How much will you appreciate it though? The Asus will be more responsive and snappier in games.

If you put TN and IPS screen side by side, you will clearly see the difference. if you use only one at a time, i'm not sure is the difference noticeable or not.
I personal prefer IPS panel.
