Okay so I am starting to make better money and I've had a really bad computer on my hands for a few years now and I think it's time to upgrade. I've come up with these specs and I want you to tell me what I should change. Keep in mind this costs around $278 and I am on a strict $300 budget. I am trying to run games like The Crew, Mafia III maybe, GTA V, etc.

CASE: **I am working on my own design, so don't worry about the case!**
CPU: Intel i5 750 Quad-Core 2.7Ghz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 960 2GB
COOLER: Arctic Alpine 11 GT 75w
MOTHERBOARD: Asus P7H55-M
RAM: Nothing fancy, DELL 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
HDD: Already owned, WD Caviar Blue 640GB

All of these besides the hard drive total up to $278. If you've seen the Potato Masher PC build from Casual Shenanigans, this may seem familiar because besides the better GTX 960 and hard drive added in this build, the parts are the same. Let me know what you think. If theres anything think should be changed try to include a link please :)

Hmm. I did check GameDebate's ratings and it says with this build, GTA V can run Medium to High at 1080p over 30fps. Also, as seen on this video: ( https://youtu.be/DH6FCgqQB_s ) the build this is mostly made up of and the build I got this idea from with a slightly slower GTX 750 and slower hard drive was able to record and play GTA V really well.

Games like gtaV depend on the performance of the single master core.
The i5-750 has a total passmark rating of 3725 but a single thread rating of 1136. That is abysmal.
Even the cheap G4400 dual core is 3707/1869.

If you insist on going cheap with old tech, look for a used G3258 which can be overclocked. 3995/2175 plus the overclock.

And the cooler is no better than the intel stock cooler

I think the Vram is going to kill you as well as the dog of a processor. Once everything is loaded to RAM the hard drive isn't used that much. The system ram of 8GB is probably fine.

You're definitely right about the processor. Though less cores it offers better performance by far. Thx
