My current PC is using a 1TB HDD and a 500GB SSD. Windows 10 is installed on the HDD.
I was wondering if i could re-use these drives for a new PC build and install Windows on the SSD.
I'm concerned as i dont know if the windows installed on my HDD will affect the installation/boot process of the new Windows.

All help is appreciated!

Solution
You would just have to wipe the OS on the hdd or else that will give an error because of the security. Then put the OS on the SSD. You might have to buy another OS though.

i have bought a new OS, however not sure how the new PC will respond to having two sets of Windows 10 installed on different drives.
I will probably wipe my HDD and move on from there.

Thanks for the reply!

Your welcome.

When you do a clean install with a new windows, you will have the option to format the device(presumably the ssd) to which you want to do the install.
Do not have any other device attached or complications will arise when windows puts a hidden recovery partition on it.

When you ultimately reattach the hard drive, you will be able to delete files or completely reformat it as you wish.
