Upgrade CPU or GPU

I run a I7 2600k at 4.5ghz 8GB of ram with a GTX 970. Where should I upgrade? 6700K or a GTX 1070? main games are Prepar3d, WOW, BF1

Definitely upgrade your CPU.
Your motherboard will have to be upgraded too, since the newest Intel processors are for the LGA 1151 socket type.
There is B150, H110, H170, and Z170 motherboards to choose from, but if you go with a K processor, pick a Z170 processor.
If you do upgrade, you will need to reactivate and/or reinstall Windows.
The GTX 970 is still a great card, so there's no need to upgrade at the moment, but consider it in the future.

Your CPU is still pretty solid. Go with the GTX 1070. Your 4.5ghz 2600k is easily on par with my stock 6700k.

GTX 1070 is a lot faster than GTX970 and even GTX 980 so if you have some spare pennys, go for it. Your i7 2600K will easily handle the GPU processing power.
