I have built a pc and I'm looking to get a monitor .Here's the 2 monitors I've documented on and settled to buy :
The 1080p LG Gaming 24GM77-B 24 inch 1ms Black 144Hz
The 1440p AOC Gaming AG241QX 24 inch 2K 1ms Black-Silver FreeSync 144Hz
I'm mostly leaning towards the 1440p 144hz monitor , but I want to make sure of some things before I pull the trigger.
I would get the 1440p 144hz mostly because of games like CS GO, Overwatch etc .
First : Is a 1440p 24 inch monitor a big upgrade compared to the 1080p 24 inch one ? Like , is there an actually noticeable difference ? Considering im trading Fps , I dont really know if its worth , and im thinking that games will look better with MAX setting instead of more pixels - right , or wrong? Is playing on a 1080p 144hz 24 inch monitor decent ? Are the images / games blurry at all ? If yes , how hard ?
Im thinking that im more of a fast speed monitor guy instead of slower but better looking . I was stuck so much time with awfull 15-20 fps that i really want to try out 144fps .
I have a GTX 1070 + I7 6700K , so this rig should be killing 1080p , but struggling sometimes in 1440p (The division took my attention , as it seems like a good optimized game) . I would also preffer not to upgrade big parts in my system for like at least 3-4 years , as i have other important stuff to spend my money on .
Im concerned that 1080p might be blurry . I heard of something PPI , but i really have no idea wtf that means (Well i know what it statistically means , but not in real life).

Since you only have a 1070, i'd recommend sticking to 1080p if you want to actually hit 100+FPS in most games. 1440p will still be VERY playable for you on that card, but you will not see consistent 100+ FPS in many games at or near max settings compared to when using the lower resolution. So if you want to actually enjoy the benefits of a high refresh rate monitor, stick to 1080p as 1440p@144Hz will require significantly more GPU power.

As for the last part, PPI is a measurement of pixel density of the screen, so obviously, the higher the PPI, the more sharp it will appear as each pixel will be smaller (and therefore harder to visually identify). If you can't wrap your head around this, imagine taking a blank piece of paper and...

If you can't wrap your head around this, imagine taking a blank piece of paper and drawing a 10x10 grid on it. Then, on another, a 100x100 grid. Go crazy and make a 1000x1000 grid on yet another. The more squares there are on the sheet, the more difficult they are for you to see, right? What this means for a computer display is that , with pixels being smaller and smaller to the point that you have difficulty seeing them (or cannot see at all), then things being rendered on screen like text and graphics will no longer appear pixelated, or will lack the typical jagged edges you see on diagonal lines, looking more like a printed medium than a traditional electronic display.

TL;DR

STAY WITH 1080@144Hz
MORE PPI = LOOKS GOOD

Yeah ,i thought about it , and im sticking to 1080p probably . I dont want the 144hz for all the games , i would sincerely say that 100 fps in some games would be a lil bit stupid (offline mostly) , i want it for cs go overwatch and some other not that requiring games .
But , one thing made me think about sticking 1080p : Upgrades . I wont do that for 4 years . I have to get a drum set and invest more in audio equipment (as ill start a band ) , so leaving more fps to breathe should be better , as probably games will take a long time before going lower than 60 fps in 1080p . 1440P would be "dangerous " for me . I hope i wont just miss GIGANTIC differences between the res.

One more question : If i buy a 1440p monitor and use it in some games at 1080p , it should look worse compared to a normal 1080p monitor , right ? I thought about this , but some said that its going to look bad (at least worse compared to a normal 1080p display) true or false ?

1920x1080 will look somewhat blurry on a 1440p monitor because 1440 is not an even multiple of 1080 (it's 33% more pixels in each direction), which means scaling artifacts will be visible as the 1080 image is resized to fit the 1440 screen.

You would have to see how this looks in person in order to decide what you would be most comfortable with.

And one thing : have you guys tried 1080p and 1440p ?
I might take the risk and go 1440p , but I want to hear your opinnion and experience :Can you tell the difference apart in GAMING ? I dont care about anything else (i mean , i do some video and photo editing , but i dont care if my monitor is 1080p or 1440p there) . Cause , i know , there is more space on 1440p and so on , but I don't know if it will really me that different . What do you say ?

What does 1 ms gtg mean ? Someone said me that it means "grey to grey" , so , the transition from grey to grey is 1 ms , but for other colors its slower . Is it true ? Cause the aoc hasd 1 ms gtg so ill maybe stick with the lg 1080p

Just think of it as response time full stop. ;)
Even if a monitor has an advertised 1ms response time, the data is always manipulated to cherry pick results.
This is most common with 1ms 'gaming' monitors or most TN panels.
There's very little difference.
Prices have skyrocketed since I last posted, shoulda gotten the Dell man.... :(
Get the VG248QE then, next best thing.
