Hello,

I recently purchased an Intel i7 6700k and have been wondering how long the lifespan will be if I overclock it. I also am using the Cooler Master 212X heatsink.

If any one would help me out that would be great! :)

It's hard to say. A few people have killed theirs instantly by adding too much voltage, but not enough time has passed for us to know for sure. However, I can show you examples of 20 year old Intel CPUs that are still running without problems with an overclock.

Yeah, totally depends how you overclock it. If you run a ton of voltage through it and don't have good cooling, you may be able to kill it in a few years. Research your butt off about what settings to manually OC your chip & don't over do it (there's usually no reason to go nuts anyway) and you'll be fine.
