Hello guys! So I'm looking to upgrade my GPU! It's an AMD Radeon R7 250 2GB card, my CPU is an AMD FX-6300. I looked at the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, but the price is still pretty steep!

I found the AMD Radeon RX480 8GB as a good medium, my question is, is this a good GPU for the price? A good competitor to the Nvidia GTX 1070? Or is there a better budget option similar to the AMD Radeon 480 8gb? Thanks!

Also, my board is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev. 6.0

An fx 6300 would hold the 1070 back anyway SK you'd be spending unnecessary money.
& yes the 480 is a great card & a huge upgrade from that 250.

I'd argue the 4gb model is nearly aa good & fine for 1080p & costs considerably less.
Also the gtx 1060 .

Thanks! Yea I'll hopefully be moving to an Intel board and CPU soon enough, the GPU is a part of my upgrade plan, the CPU is next in line ;) I found this awesome cardbut not sure if it will fit in my case! :/

Would that Asus card be a good idea for my mid case?

Case looks tight for the the tri-fan Asus mate , I don't think your mid drive cage is removeable.

Worth considering as they'll definitely fit.

Tends to be a bit of dislike for xfx cards on toms but that gtr model is one of the fastest stock cards around & immensely overclockable - a very very good price too at the minute.

I'd be more concerned with your PSU model??

Cyberpower/ibuypower tend to put very weak generic psu's in their builds & you want a fairly decent 500w to run a 480 IMO.

You can't beat price if you compare last gen to current gen for card kingpins. Last gen: GTX Titan Z for like $3000... current gen: Stronger GTX 1080 or even two way SLI of said card for less than half of the price of a full GTX Titan Z.

I did a LOT of scouring the internet tonight, and I found this beauty! What are your thoughts on this? https://goo.gl/1UfR6S The 8GB model clocked at 1342MHz. As for the PSU, this PC has a crappy 400w PSU that I was going to upgrade as well, I was thinking something around 850w, is this overkill? I just want a psu I'll never have to bother with again, as I intend to get me an Intel board and a super nice Intel CPU in the future. Is 850w overkill?

EDIT: Another Candidate https://goo.gl/d72pwL

A lot of the review on the Sapphire Nitro+ say it gets very very hot, someone in the reviews even said they replaced the Nitro+ with this card https://goo.gl/d72pwL (the black edition 8GB version) Between the two, what would you say? These 2 have made it to the final decision, I'll most likely be going for one of these. The XFX card has it's 8 pin PCI-E connector on top which is a plus for me, as well as a better cooling system, but clocked SLIGHTLY lower.
