I bought Acer Predator Z35 Monitor. http://tinyurl.com/z6zo7ty

I am shopping around for a KVM switch to use this monitor with laptop and workstation using Displayport cables.

I have this KVM switch in mind by Startech http://tinyurl.com/jv85z5h

I am concerned about it lowering the monitor's 144 herz refresh rate.

Any thoughts about this? Will it really lower the refresh rate at 2560 x 1080 native resolution?

Any suggestions about going with a different KVM switch?

It looks like it will lower the refresh rate. it says specifically that it only supports a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2400 at "lower refresh rates", so it might have a bandwidth cap that will scale down a bit. You might get about 85hz or 100, maybe even 120hz. Hard to say.
You should call them and ask if it will support your full refresh rate of 144hz at 2560x1080.

In specs it also features this:

Maximum Digital Resolutions 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz
