I was looking to build a new PC for gaming as a gift to myself for this college semester. I've gone on PC part picker and wanted some feedback on the build. I Was wondering if upgrading to the GTX 1070 over the GTX 1060 is the best option for a 144Hz monitor. I plan on mostly playing Battlefield 1, csgo, league of legends, titanfall 2 etc. If you reccomend me changing anything, please feel free to do so. Thanks in advance!

If you are planning on gaming in 1080p the 1060 will be just fine. From my knowledge from reading the forums here is that a high refresh rate from the monitor doesnt require a high end graphics card to run. But if you are gaming at 1440p a 1070 will definitely be the one to go.
