3000mhz XMP won't run, pc turns off after 2 seconds and restarts

As in the title, when I set XMP profile 3000, pc just turns off, it stays off for like a second or two and turns on again. And so on.

When I manually set the frequency to 3000mhz and the timings to 15-15-15-36 leaving the voltage alone at 1.2 it booted just fine, although I haven't done any mem test to see if it's all good.

My 6600K is @ 4.5ghz right now at 1.35V.

Any ideas?
And is my manual settings ok or should I change something extra?

It depends on the MB and CPU as to compatibility and 3000MHz is a lot to ask of the IMC.
3000MHz is considered an OC so they may or may not work in conjunction with your MB and CPU.

Very often an XMP profile may not be acceptable if the processor has no profile for it and upping the RAM voltage slightly can help.
You did say the system booted just fine at 1.2V and set to those Primary Timings. Do they run at their rated speed.?

That's my parts list. My MB should run DDR4 at 3866mhz no problem. As to the CPU, intel says it works with 2133mhz ram but I read that as long as your MB can do it, there should be no problem.

So I changed the frequency and timings manually, haven't touched the voltage (it's at 1.2) and it seems to be working.

Well that's excellent if they are working OK tieripisz.

There are a couple of stress tests you can run.

Download HWMonitor and AIDA64 and put them together on your desktop.
AIDA64 has a memory test, it will also test your Cache, CPU and FPU. Go to the Tools menu and select to run the tests. You can also use HWMonitor to keep an eye on temps and rail voltages. Take screen shots at the 10min mark and post the results.

Another good test is Realbench. Run the test first then the benchmark. If you pass that test and benchmark, your system is stable.
Keep an eye on temperatures constantly and stop any test if temps reach 80C.

OK, little update.
I managed to update bios. Now it runs ok on XMP. BTW. If it would run at 1.2V should I change it? Or don't bother? Any benefits?

Also I set LLC to turbo so now I'm at 4.5ghz and 1.285V. Unfortunatelly the temps hold me back. At current frequency I have 64-68 celcius at load (max heat test in aida64), at 4.6ghz 1.34V I had 69-75 celcius which is still ok but I think I'll stay at 4.5.

Good call tieripisz, updating your Bios. 60-68C at load are good safe temps for longevity.
If the voltage you have works then leave it at that. Remember more voltage more heat.
If your happy stay at 4.5GHz as the extra 100MHz will make very little differance.
