What is the model number of your Laptop?
What operating system are you running (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10)?
What mail program are you running (Hotmail, Thunderbird, Google)?
What mail account are you trying to open?

e-mail is not setup automatically with windows. if you have windows 10 you can use its own e-mail program to setup your e-mail account. if not you will have to find an e-mail program like microsoft outlook
