I'm currently using a 19-20 inch with 1600 x 900 LG Monitor with msi gtx 760 and planning to upgrade my monitor to 24inch.

my question is:
1. Should i go 2560 x 1440 with 60hz refresh rate?
2. or a 1080p with 144hz refresh rate?
3. or just stick with a 1080p ips display with 60hz?

I got a 200-300 dollars budget and have limited stores to buy from my country (Philippines). Hope anyone can also suggest a good monitor.

Note: an ASUS VG248QE, BenQ ZOWIE XL2411, AOC G2460PF and a Viewsonic XG2401 all cause 300dollars in my country.

Mostly use for watching movies, play dota 2 and other non FPS games.

I would go higher res i not higher fps if y our not playing shooting games.... 144hz is awesome in twitch shooters but when your in a browser or on your desktop and all none direct X programs you are still 60hz on a 144hz screen. 144hz is only for in games.

even running a 144hz game windowed not fullscreen makes them 60hz/fps so dont waste your money.
Your GTX 760 won't be able to push games at 1440p.
Your GTX 760 won't be able to push many games beyond 60FPS.

I'd get the cheapest 1080p monitor you can source, even used. Save your money for a GPU. You are not ready for 1440p or 144hz gaming yet.
