Multi monitor setup DP to HDMI question

Recently just built a new PC and my main issue I'm running into now is that my old GPU (EVGA 760 SC) had DVI-D, DVI-I, HDMI, and 1 DP outputs. My primary monitor was occupying the HDMI while the secondary display used the VGA (from monitor) into DVI-I output of the GPU. My new GPU (MSI 1070 Gaming X) has a DVI-D, HDMI, 4 DP outputs. Unfortunately, My old setup will not work the same way now that I no longer have a DVI-I slot. Neither of my monitors have DP capability (yes I know it's about that time to upgrade them).

My question is, what would be the best approach to getting my second monitor back working with this new GPU? I've been suggested that I buy and use a DP to HDMI cable but there are some very differing opinions on this from the forums/threads I have read. My main concern is when people mention that DP to HDMI is NOT bi-directional will this cause my secondary monitor to not display picture? Will the cable I link below work with what I am describing what I want? If not, what is my best option to get my second monitor back working with my new setup?

Thanks in advance, will check back later. If you need any more information regarding my hardware just ask.

That cable should work but I know for a fact that this adapter works.

If you are connecting both monitors to the GPU and both monitors support HDMI, then use two of the cables you listed. " Can only convert signal from DisplayPort to HDTV. This is not a bi-directional adapter " This means that the cable can only convert DisplayPort to HDMI, and not vice versa. Hope this helps :)

Yes, both monitors have HDMI slots available. Only problem is the GPU only has that 1 HDMI output. So for sure, the cord I posted above will work to display picture on my second monitor if I were to use it from GPU's DP output to 2nd monitors HDMI input? (just for clarification before I spend another $15 on a cord)

We just switched everyone to dual monitor setups at our office this week. These are Dell office worstation PCs with one VGA and 1 DisplayPort each. The monitors we wanted to use only accept VGA and HDMI. I bought these adapters and plugged them into the PC's DisplayPort and then just used a standard HDMI cable from the adapter to the monitor.

The second monitor on each PC is using VGA directly from the Dell PCs to the monitors. I can confirm that our dual monitor setups at the office are working perfectly with these DisplayPort to HDMI adapters.

At home it was much simpler since both of my monitors accept DisplayPort and my 1070 has 3 DisplayPorts.
