You don't really get a choice man. Your laptop will either be compatible with the 32-bit or the 64-bit. You can find out by going into your control panel and you'll find an page with information about your machine and whether or not your current IS is 32/64-bit. Also, it's not likely upgrading the OS will make your laptop run better, there isn't really a way to greatly improve laptop performance. If you want to make huge improvements to performance you should get a PC
Nearly every system sold in the last few years is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. As mentioned earlier, the speed different between the two versions is minimal, unless you plan to upgrade and use more than 4GB of memory. To use that more than 4GB of memory requires the use of a 64-bit OS.
Personally, I would recommend using the 64-bit version.
I know it's unlikely his laptop won't be able to run the 64-Bit (with 4GB RAM), but it won't help him much whether he gets the 32 or 64-Bit in terms of performance. That's the base of the whole question. He wants to improve the performance of his laptop which he can't really do with a new OS or more RAM. It'd be nice to know what he wants better performance for

manual said it only support up to 2GB Ram
I saw that as well. Many of these older rigs would actually support up to 4GB, but no more. I think this is one of those systems.
While the OP didn't specifically ask for a PC option, it is, of course, always an option. If the OP desires to plan for a PC build, I would suggest a new thread in the Systems section of the forum to determine those options.
