Problem with graphic card and Acer x3995

Hi, I have an acer x3995 and decided to upgrade my graphic card so i bought a GTX1070, a new psu with 650W and a new case, the problem is that when I plug everithing, my pc doesn't work with the graphic card (tried with the integrated and works perfectly) the pc stays at a blackscreen with the acer logo and stays in here beeping every minute aprox.

With some research i discovered that it could be a problem with the secure boot but in my bios the page authentication is missing and the Uefi Firmware seetings page in Advanced startup too.
So im not capable of disabling the secure boot

you my have to contact acer to see if there proprietary motherboard' and its bios will even support any newer cards ?? most are 700 series or below with out a ufei bios and need a supporting uefi bios for todays latest cards [So im not capable of disabling the secure boot that a UEFI bois feature so you must have a older legacy bios? ]

some models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of these threads here at toms to look at some models will allow upgrades and some dont.. and a lot of guys here say ya ya ya when is really no no no...it would be sad you spent $200 on a card that wount post after you installed it as most find out. then get told its your psu and you spend more and end up right back where you are now, but its up to you good luck..


you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers there only guaranteed to work as is out of the box as you bought it ,..


also these boards do not have to meet atx standards and there pci-e slot power may not do the required 75w needed for most higher end cards and can be limited to say 45 or 60w that is all thats needed with the low end factory oem cards that it may of shipped with

in the end any upgrade you do is all your own risk . the prebuilt manufactures only guarantees there computers work as sold to you as is out of the box from there factory with what they put on it , not a drop more

so I'd say a newer 10 series is a no go

Well thank you for answering, its really disapointing i spent a little fortune on this.

¿So the only viable option would be to change the motorboard?
¿There would be any compatibility problem with the aspire cpu (its a i5 3450) or with the ram?
¿Wich cheap motherboard would you recommend me?

just be sure contact acer or try there forums but most times is how it is with the 900 cards and up things got funny even with some custom boards needed a new bios to work

see even with a uefi bios if it don't add support for latest cards you still maybe out [its crazy ] things just aint so plug and play anymore


thing about a prebuilt is they sell computers and really don't care about you upgrading them they don't make there money that way and only for the most part give limited support to what was on it when and as you bought it
