I'm trying to install windows 10 on an fm2 (not fm2+) PC I just bought my wife. I'm installing from an "active" internal HDD to another HDD, and it goes fine till "setup could not configure windows for your hardware". Fine, whatever. I do the msoobe thing and it goes on to let me pick various settings that'll send everything I do to Microsoft. Great!

But it gets stuck at " wait a moment" after "getting devices ready". I left it overnight, but the HDD access light wasn't blinking, so I did what google said and force restarted. Now it says windows cannot complete installation. I repeated this process in its entirety but no luck. Any ideas?

Relevant hardware is an a6-5600k, 8gb gskill ram, a WD 500gb drive, and a 500gb Hitachi drive. Trying to install on the WD.

I'm sorry about that. It's an a6-5600k with a WD Eco 500gb HDD (the one I'm trying to install windows on) and a Hitachi 500gb from 2005, which I'm installing from. Both are 7200rpm. I've got 8gb of gskill 1600mhz, some no name WiFi card which I removed for installation, and I'm installing windows 10 home 64 bit

It was a combination of things. I needed to format the target drive, first of all. I couldn't leave data on it like I'd hoped. I also needed to set the target partition as active. I formatted within windows setup, which solved both problems. Hopefully this helps someone else.
