i just built a new pc everything works except my gpu it doesnt display siganl when its plugged in if i take the gpu out it has signal through my mobo but when i plug the gpu nothing no signal in mobo or gpu i have a gtx 1080 and z170-a ,mobo idk whats wrong

Sounds like uefi could be blocking the boot process having detected a foreign card. Try disabling Secure boot.
