Hello everyone

I've recently been thinking about building a computer and I just wanted to hear your thoughts about my build. Also tell me if my parts are not compatible or if any of the parts aren't good.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: MSI B150M Gaming Pro Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Storage: PNY CS1311 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card

Case: Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case

PSU: EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

Thank you all for taking your time to read and answer my question. I'm new to pc building and so I really prefer not to end up with bad and incompatible parts.

So everything looks good. You can upgrade to a i7-6700 for now. Of course upgrading the GPU will be beneficial in the future. I would consider upgrading to 16GB. I don't understand why this build is 900 though.

I pretty much picked what you have, and got under $800, but I strongly suggest upgrading that ram to 16GB for $13 more...

Your motherboard is just fine. Most of all B150 chipsets are same in nature. Plus it's from MSI which is a respectable brand. They are probably thinking of the Z170 which offers overclocking, but it's out of your price range. This board is the sweet spot.

Hi Herc08. Thank you for your help. I'm going to have to ask another question sorry. My monitor only supports DVI and VGA while my GPU has 3 display ports, 1 HDMI, and 1 DVI-D. Should I use an HDMI-> VGA adapter or an HDMI-> DVI adapter? If so, does it worsen the quality? Thanks again for all your help.

It could worsen the quality because the monitor is not designed to take in digital input. If you can deal with that before you upgrade the monitor, then you will be golden.

So what do you think I should do? Get a new monitor? Change my GPU ?
