Multiple monitors slows games how can I fix?

I have 2 monitors plugged into separate graphics cards, but when I play games on the first if I have anything open on the second, regardless whether it is just Facebook it causes the framerate of my game to drop. any reason why this could be happening? I play games on a gtx 950, with the other monitor being a 650, all my drivers are up to date, I have 16 gigs of ram and an I5 processor.

My first guess is that it is directly related to using 2 graphics cards. There is absolutely no reason to do this. A second monitor puts little to no load on the GPU.

Just use your 950. The 650 is causing you problems.
