Looking to buy a monitor for PC and PS4

I am looking for a good PC monitor to use with my ps4. I am running a i7 4790k with a Strix gtx 980ti. I am having a hard time looking for a monitor that suits both my platforms without drawbacks. For example I would go for a 1440p monitor for my pc but the ps4 outputs 1080p. I would like to also take advantage of high refresh rates where possible so I would be looking for a 1080p screen with maybe 144hz. I have in the past used the ASUS PG248Q and found it had colour banding and pixelation issues. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Edit; I have been looking at the BenQ XL2430T and the Asus VG248QE. Which do you recommend out of the two?

Anyone? I am really considering the Dell S2417DG but am not sure how well the monitor will scale for the ps4 1080p output. Anyone used a ps4 with a 1440p monitor?
