Connecting two DVI-D dual-link ports with DVI-D single-link cable

Hello, both my monitor and GPU have DVI-D dual link ports. Since DVI single link cables are much easier to find than the dual-link, can I use it to connect them with no problems?

My monitor is a Samsung P2470HN. It has support to 1080p and DVI-D single-link.

A single cable should work just fine with that display.

DVI-D dual link will have 4 extra pins to support resolutions greater than 1080P.
Single link will be missing those pins but will be compatible and fine for 1080P
