Monitor isn't working properly with ROG20AJ. Using display port to DVI.

I've got the pg278q but the company hasn't sent a display port with it. So i bought a Dispaly port to DVI and i plug it in to find out that my monitor goes into rest mode after a couple of seconds (and yes my pc is on)

Adapters can introduce issues, I don't trust em...

or upgrading the graphics card, when possible.

Your monitor is 2560x1440 right? To achieve that you need dual-link DVI natively not through an adapter. Regaulr DVI does 1920x1080, which is what your adapter converts to. DisplayPort does 2560x1440 natively.

Most from amazon seem to only be 1920x1080. You need to be sure the adapter supports it.

DP to HDMI does not work with HDMI to DP.

Should be able to at 1920x1080. If windows was 2560x1440 then you connect 1920x1080 hardware, you get a blank monitor as if there's no signal.
