Help me spend my money on a good Game monitor!!

I have my system built and am ready for the monitor upgrade.. I don't really have a budget limit. I have pretty good/fast system.. CPU is at 4.8G and I have GeForce 980 ti Asus strix X 2 SLI.
avid gamer of all types of games but only single player, never MP.

ive done a lot of reading on all the refresh rates , gsync etc etc but I'm not totally clear still.
so am I good with a 60HZ gsync screen...or a 144 with no gsync. I am also looking at some ultrawides that are 100HZ with and without gsync...some are 100 with freesync which I couldn't use but the monitors seem nice at 3440 x1440 ultrawide and 100hz

right now I game on a 60hz 4k..but I run all games at 2560 x 1440 and max out all specs.... on average in most games(titanfall2, rise of tombraider, battlefield 1) I'm 85 FPS.

You might as well wait for CES 2017 and see what HDR monitors are coming out possibly OLED.

none really.. but if I were to pick I would say a grand or close to it

I'd go with a 144hz 1440 gsync screen. Your 980 ti's will run triple a titles on it fine for a few years:

Just remember the higher the resolution, the more frequent your gpu upgrades. If you upgrade all the time, go for the higher resolution.

ya I was looking closely at this monitor..although its 100HZ not 144....but if I gsync to 100 I'm sure everything would look pretty amazing from a smoothness factor..

how does that rog swift compare to the predator x34...all specs look the same.... I think I'm leaning toward either of these 2..although ive now seen a microboard 3440 x 1440 100HZ but is has freesync not gsyn.... but its only 650...just wondering if I would miss the gsync

Well that's what I did. I have a 5 year old system:
i5 2500k clocked at 5ghz
nvidia geforce gtx 1070
16gb ddr3 ram
ocz ssd
