Windows 10 random black screens (first build)

Yesterday i built a new pc (my first build) and installed windows 10 home 64 bit on it. Since I started it up and started using it, I am getting black screens for a few seconds at a time usually when starting chrome or Microsoft edge (many other programs when starting) or when loading new pages. After this black screen disappears some or all of my windows for all programs turn black until I close or restart them.

I have a 120 GB ssd and a 1tb hdd, since I put windows on the ssd and pretty much everything else in on the hdd, could that be my problem?

forgot to mention, sometimes I get the black screen on startup where my cursor is on screen, but everything else is black

Edit: occasionally getting error for nvlddmkm.sys where it forces my computer to restart. Also tried gpu in a dell Inspiron 3847 (using windows 7 Professional.) and it worked

Where did you install the Nvidia driver from? To fix the nvlddmkm.sus errors and probably the black screens as well, try this: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2767677/clean-graphics-driver-install-windows.html

I seen black screens exactly how you describe at start up so i think its likely the driver, as new versions fix it, and sometimes make it come back again
