Hey all, i need help on deciding to either get a 1080p or 1440p but im interested on visuals more but also love competitive game.
I really want to know if i could run at least 60 fps on gaming but i want to know if it would be on Max Settings.
i.e. Overwatch, Tom Clancy Division, etc.
My PC Specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
CPU COOLER: Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
MOTB: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit

That's a nice rig and should easily handle Max settings for Overwatch on that monitor as Overwatch isn't overly intensive. Thing is it may only be in the 80fps range or so for Overwatch @1440p. But as for the Division you will probably need to scale back your settings a bit to get a solid 60fps. If you wanted to go 1080p with your setup you'd be set for a decent 120hz or higher refresh rate monitor. Overwatch should get close to hitting 144fps at 1080p and the division on Ultra should be able to hold a solid 60fps.

Not many single cards can hold 1440p @60fps consistently with games cranked to max settings, they can average it but many still have spots where it'll drop to mid 30's FPS. But as an investment that is a great monitor...
