I have an old hdd and it might be taking a crap soon. I want to get a good and fast 700gb to 1tb hdd or ssd. My budget is $220 at the most. I want one that is fast for gaming and fast browsing Thanks for the help! Links to product would be nice!

With that budget I would go SSD as a lot of the 960GB-1TB SSD can be had for around that price. You might need to kick in an extra 20 or so.

Just a note... SSDs don't make your games runs faster. That's a myth that won't go away. At best, it may improve your loading times for some games. I tested Fallout 4 and Starcraft 2 and the loading times for those two games were pretty much the same as they were for mechanical HDDs.

Yes, an SSD will make your browsing and startups, and lauching times much quicker but you also need to take into consideration your storage needs. If you don't anticpate using up that much space then by all means go for the SSD.

Another option you could consider is... buying an SSD for your O/S, Browser and Misc. programs... and then getting a mechanical HDD for your games...
