Does mSATA SSD worth an upgrade for my laptop?

Dear all,

I currently own a 3 years old Sager NP7352 with mSATA slot and an old PC (built it 6 years ago). I am puzzled over upgrading my Sager with an mSATA SSD or upgrade my PC.

My laptop, mainly for working, already had 2 HDDs with one of them is my OS-HDD. However, I am unsatisfied with the slow speed and want to switch to the mSATA Samsung 850 EVO 500GB. However, in my country, most of the sellers had switched to M.2 SSD and I have to order from the U.S. (I am from Vietnam). My friends also advised me to buy a new laptop with M.2 SSD rather than upgrading.

Anyone can give me an advice?

Cheers,
Quan

Hmm, so you all recommend to not upgrade the laptop with mSATA SSDs. If i buy a replacement for my laptop, I might wait for the Surface Pro 5 which rumored to come out in Q1 of 2017 (said March or April) along with the big upgrade of Win 10.
