So I bought a GTX 1050 Ti today. I however realized that there are a lot of cables running over my PSU slot.

It's my first time getting a proper GPU and I have never done proper cable management. Any suggestions?

Having proper cable management is always helpful, but most certainly not a must-have. I don't see so many cables in your picture (in some cases, there are a dozen of cables, so you actually don't have nearly as much). I would simply move the cables that are in the way, plug in the GPU and then make sure that the cables do not touch any fans. You can place them wherever you want, just avoid physical contact with fans.

As a sidenote, your PSU is not really a good unit, but it should do the job for this particular GPU. It should be on the list for your next upgrade - nothing urgent, but definitely something to consider.

Thanks. Would the cables be fine on top of the GPU?

Well, certainly. But I would still use some ties to secure it in order not to touch anything - they are electrically insulated, but slight vibrations from all fans in the case can make the cables vibrate as well, and this can sometimes produce slight strange noises. Or not, it all depends on particular case setup. Anyway, nothing to worry about if they don't touch the fans.
