Why is the 980 Ti still selling in the 1080 price range?

Why is the 980 Ti still selling in the 1080 price range? I paid $600 for my 980 Ti in 2015 and thought a 1080 might be a decent upgrade or SLI another 980 Ti but the prices haven't dropped at all. What's up?

Production stopped. must still be selling in low numbers at high price.

In the UK at least they did drop though.
