Hi, I am looking into PC cases for overclocking. For £150 what is the best case to go for? I did try the search but it was not working for me. I'm looking at the Cooler Master Cosmos Type S (http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=347264). With this case what could I overclock the Q9450 or Q6600 to?

Best case for air?

I always vote for the Antec Nine Hundred - it's a bit noisy, but it's got great airflow and looks nice too.

I hear there are some other good ones out there, but I still love the 900.

As for water cooling, you could choose many that gave enough room for the block and all the tubing.

You may want to check out newegg.com (I know you can't shop there) and look at the various cases and check out the reviews filtered by helpfulness.

I always find that to be a good source of information. I still like the 900. Good luck with your choosing.

Antec Twelve hundred (reviewed on hexus.net a day or two ago).
CoolerMaster RC-690 (cheaper) or RC-590 (cheaper) or any Stacker case.

The 900 is a great case.

As Andrius pointed out, the Twelve Hundred is coming out soon, and is basically the nine hundred, except that it's a full tower (vs the mid) and has a few other features.

If I were buying now, knowing how well the nine hundred does, I wouldn't hesitate buying it either.

It seems as if they updated some of the things about the nine hundred
- the twelve hundred - is roomier
- the twelve hundred - has 12 drive bays (vs 9 in the nine hundred)
- the twelve hundred - has fan filters (less dust)
- the twelve hundred - has 3 120mm fans on the front, 2 120mm out the back, and the 200mm fan on the top.
- the twelve hundred - has holes in the back plate (where the motherboard connects) to allow for better cable management (you have to mod the 900 or get creative)

The 900 is still great, just smaller - only 2 front fans, 1 back, and the top 200.

Either is a great choice.

I have the CM-690, fantastic case with very good airflow.
Am using the stock 3x120mm 1000RPM fans and have added an extra 120mm LED fan.
Temps are 28-31C idle on the CPU and 45C on one GTX and 50C on the other.
Cracking case and much cheaper than your budget! :D

Thanks, that really helps. The review says "Under load, the Antec 1200 managed to return a better performance than the recently-reviewed Cooler Master COSMOS S. CPU and GPU readings were both lower than with the COSMOS S, and the differential with case temperature was bigger still. However, the motherboard enjoyed the biggest improvement over Cooler Master's case, maxing out at only 31 deg C." This will make a big difference to my choice. How long will it be until I can buy this from the shops in UK?
