What they to realize is that this is not like HDD's where you can low performance drives that will reflect on price.

Aside from DRAMless controllers and TLC, you can't really cut much of the fab cost. You sell a good performing, reliable drive for the right price and people will come in mass, you try to go the old fashion way, you're doomed.

The prices for the 960 EVO are pretty damn good. About 50 cents per gig from what I've seen. So WD has a lot to prove before I would go with something other than Samsung.

Not really a premium offering compared to what Samsung already has on the market, but better stated read/write performance and similarly priced to Intel's 600p which is bring up the budget NVMe PCIe storage range.

Hi...this is awesome news. Just a Q, I have GA-z97x-ud3r-black mobo with 2280 m.2 slot onboard, will this work? Also I have Windows 7 x64 Pro license dont wanna waste it, can i install this OS on WD black NVMe version or i need AHCI model.
