This monitor is brand new, I am using the Dual link DVI cable it came with. All needles are in place, no damage there. I have it plugged into my Alienware computer which only has HDMI or USB ports so I used an DVI DUAL link adapter to HDMI. Still only getting hz though and don't know what I am supposed to fo to get 120hz

That all depends on how much you want to spend, I'd start here:

Make sure whatever you get will fit in your computer,(check to make sure it has a double height pci-e slot.) Then pick something with both DVI-D and displayport(for future proofing). Offhand I'd recommend the nvidia 1050 ti if you don't have a ton of money to spend.

If you have a model number or link to your system, I could help out a bit more.

It is the video card that came with the computer, not sure what's in there to be honest. So, if I get a new card, do you have any suggestions as to what I should get? I'm not really computer savvy.
