Possible trade: 24" 144Hz TN vs 25" 60Hz IPS

I currently have an Asus VG248QE 24" 144Hz 1920x1080 TN panel monitor. If I sold it I could probably get enough to buy an Asus MX259H 25" 60Hz 1920x1080 IPS panel monitor instead.

I'm not a hardcore gamer (I have a GTX 960 -- my computer can run GTA V at 80-100 fps), and frankly I don't get that much out of the 144Hz compared to 60Hz (the difference is noticeable, but I get used to either pretty quickly and I don't find that the 60Hz refresh impacts my gaming experience).

Is the improved color quality and viewing angle of an IPS panel, as well as the extra diagonal inch (and nice slim bezel), worth the downgrade to normal refresh rate?

Edit: if I get a good sale, or maybe even paying a small extra, I could perhaps even get the Asus VP279Q 27" 76Hz IPS -- a slightly higher than normal refresh rate and substantially longer diagonal (albeit perhaps too large for 1920x1080).

Really this is all a personal preference issue, honestly i would switch your refresh rate to 60hz in settings and if you miss 144hz you will have your answer.

Good call. I'll do that tonight, see if I "feel" any degradation of the experience (both in games and in normal desktop use).

I do have a second 24" 60Hz TN monitor next to it (I use dual monitors), but it's a cheap one I was gifted that has an awful display quality compared to the Asus monitor (despite my attempts at calibrating it), so it's hard to say based on that. It would also be nice to see an IPS panel live, I guess. Are they really noticeably better?
