Currently I'm at $1550ish and I'm looking to get the build down to $1200 to $1300. I do like the gtx1070 and I want to keep that but still unsure of what brand to get. I am not planning on overclocking but I do want a quiet build so buying a CPU fan is still up in the air. People have told me getting the i5-6500k will prevent bottlenecking which is obviously good. 8gb or ram will be good enough. Keyboard, mouse, and monitor are all already bought so no need to change those obviously. Thanks, I've been told this place is great for help!

Got it under $1200.

Cheaper Mobo, won't know the difference.
Cheaper Ram, Won't know the difference and looks the same.
Only 1 storage drive but you can save up for another drive later easily enough 275gbs is plenty for a few months.
Scaled back on the GPU, had to, no way to get under budget otherwise, still good for high end gaming though.
Similar style of case, but cheaper.
Cheaper headset, but still good.

Saving you $200-$300 from that build is going to be cutting some corners I'm afraid.

The 1060 (6GB) JM suggested is the biggest saving and is totally viable, but the 1070 makes a whole lot of sense with a 144Hz monitor.

If he's playing Counter Strike as he has tagged in the post, 144hz is totally doable on the 1060 for that.

He'll at least be able to see the frames above 60 he gets in other games as well.
